The
original Cobra & Seawolf Owners Club was started
around 1999, by a couple of owners looking to exchange information
and ideas by way of the World Wide Web. The club received a lot
of interest and even staged a couple of well supported rallies.
Sadly the site went into decline a after a year or so, possibly
as it was mainly hosted for free. Even so interest in the site remained
strong and eventually the site was re-born in June 2006, by way
of the efforts of Cobra Sailors looking to promote a more active
club kind of club. Most of the old website details were obtained
from the original founders and these have been amended and updated
where ever possible and have provided a good platform on which to
build a more permanent and active owners association.
The aim of the new “Cobra & Seawolf Owners
Association” is pretty much is as originally
intended, which is to share knowledge and ideas with other “like
minded” owners but also arrange Sailing and other social meetings
for our members, mainly by way the website. Hopefully this will
help to promote the image of Cobra and Seawolf yachts. The association
has the full approval of David Feltham the Designer.
We have a wealth of expertise amongst our membership, so if t's
help and advice your 'e after, or if you are thinking of buying
or selling a Cobra or Seawolf then please feel free get in touch.
Cobra
Yachts were first built in 1976, and after design
alterations became the Seawolf. There are 4 Models in the Cobra
range, Cobra 700, Cobra 750,
Cobra 850, and Cobra 1050. and 3 models of Seawolf
Range, Seawolf 26, Seawolf 30,
(Cobra 900) and the Seawolf 43.
Over 1400 hulls were moulded in all.
We will be
pleased to hear from anyone that is able to help the association,
(unpaid of course) in any aspects of running the organisation. If
you are a previous owner or have knowledge of these yachts, we would
like to hear from you. We would also like to hear from any businesses
in the marine industry that would be interested in a link on the

Joining us You can help! We need as many of you Cobra
& Seawolf owners to join as possible, so that we
can eventually obtain RYA status. We know that some other class
associations charge up to £30 per annum, so our membership
fees won't break the bank. We have added a for For Sale
& Wanted page, plus Brokerage page,
As well as features on members boats and any
improvements that some of you may have carried out to them. We
are hopeful that the site will receive sufficient support for
it to reach it's full potential.
The Joining
Fee is £5, plus £10 for a years membership,
the subscription of £10, to be renewed annually. This will
be mainly to cover the costs incurred for the Website and general
administration costs. Any surplus of funds will be used to help
funding for the associations social events. Our members will have
benefits of any discounts that we have negotiated from selected
businesses associated with the marine leisure industry. We would
like to arrange locally held social events in throughout the year
and we hope that members
will take an active part in making these happen. We also plan
to get some polo shirts embroidered with the our logo and we also
have a basic design for the club burgee, although this has not
yet been finalised.
